New website design, happenings, etc.

I recently revamped the website. In addition to an updated look, I’ve added more information about what you can hire me for, from Feature Poet at your event to Workshop Facilitator at your organization. Play around with it to see what I offer!

Here’s some of what I’ve been up to and what is coming up…

Since I last blogged, I, along with two other EC Poetry & Prose members, Patti and Zorina, opened for the National Association for Poetry Therapy conference. (Notice the awesome banner behind us that I designed last year!)

ECPP also held a reading at the Ivy Bookshop. It was great!

I gave workshops for Armed Services Arts Partnership and the North Baltimore Chapter of Maryland Writers’ Association in April. Also, I received super exciting news that I was awarded a grant from Maryland State Arts Council!! It helped cover my travel expenses for the residency in France in January.

I’ve updated my calendar to reflect some of what’s coming up, including workshops, readings, conferences, meetings, etc. There’s more coming that isn’t on the calendar yet! I’ve decided to take back over the Frederick Chapter of MWA this coming year and I’m busy planning an awesome calendar of offerings for the chapter. I’m crossing my fingers that we can increase chapter engagement to (and exceed!) pre-Covid levels.

Meanwhile, I’m pretty excited to be offering a Roadtrip Planning workshop at a local 55+ community!

Speaking of roadtripping, I recently had an article in the Frederick News Post 72 Hours section about Mother-Daughter Roadtrips, just in time for Mother’s Day. It wasn’t written for the cover but ended up there!

And more about roadtrips……

I’m taking a working roadtrip to Europe in July!!!  I’ll be accompanied by not only my daughter, but one of her close friends, Kayla, who will be on her very first passport.  I’m sooo excited to show Kayla new places!  But back to the work part…I’m finishing up research on a work in progress.  For that, I’ll be visiting museums and other sites, including a concentration camp, in Germany, Belgium, and Austria.

Wanna see the current planning map? I want July to be here now!

I am, as usual, working (erratically) on writing and editing. I have a couple poems being published in the upcoming months. I do need to spend more time working on my chapbook, submitting to journals, and applying for residencies. Until next time…
