DESCRIPTION:We will be collaborating with April M. Rimpo\, at a RE/Max office in Eldersburg for a fundraising event for EC Poetry & Prose and another charity TBD by the artist.  More info coming soon!  From April’s website– \n  \n“Country Life” Exhibition at\nRE/Max Advantage –\nEldersburg from April Rimpo\nThe RE/Max Advantage Eldersburg office is in a quaint town in Maryland\, known for farming\, horses\, and beautiful quiet spots \, so the artwork acknowledges these surroundings. \nI’m thrilled to announce RE/Max Advantage Realty is hosting an event for me and my artwork on April 1\, 2023\, from 2 – 4PM. I’ve invited Ellicott City Poetry & Prose to create new Ekphrastic pieces inspired by my art. In conjunction with a silent auction of my artwork\, the ECPP poets will read their pieces during the event. They also have their books available for purchase\, including “Portriats of Life: An Ekphrastic Anthology” that shares the poetry and artwork by myself and Elaine Weiner-Reed that inspired their poems in the book. The book is the result of an event sponsored by ECPP at our last joint exhibition in November 2022. The poetry took us on a roller coaster ride of emotions; moving us to tears of joy and sorrow as the poets shared stories through their poetry. This event is sure to be equally moving. \nA portion of the art sales will be donated to non-profit organizations: Maryland Food Bank and ECPP. Sales of “Portraits of Life: An Ekphrastic Anthology” will also result in donations to the Poor People’s Campaign and Maryland Food Bank. \nNo need to wait until April 1\, 2023 to see the artwork. DESCRIPTION:I’ll be hosting an ekphrastic event\, partnering the Frederick Chapter of Maryland Writers’ Association with the Delaplaine Arts Center.  It’s exciting!  We will be paired with a juried photography exhibit.  Up to 20 poets (including yours truly!) will be writing ekphrastic poetry inspired by the photographs.  I look forward to this reading!
